Upa Gupta

Hi, I am Upa Gupta. Currently, I am a Doctoral Candidate in Computer Science Department at The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) under the supervision of Dr. Leonidas Fegaras. I am planning to defend my thesis in August 2016.

My research interests include distributed computing, data mining, BigData analysis and NoSQL databases. For my dissertation, I am working on the design patterns for the distributed graph computation on distributed framework like Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark. In addition to this, I am also working on the spatio-temporal data analysis and mining on rainfall and precipitation data at Mining and Analysis of Spatio-Temporal (MAST) Data Lab, UT Arlington under the supervision of Dr. Ramez Elmasri and Dr Leonidas Fegaras.

Before coming to UTA, I completed my Bachelors of Enginnering in Computer Science and Engineering from Panjab University, Chandigarh, India in 2010 and I pursued my high school education from Prabhu Dayal Public School, Delhi, India.

My hobbies include computer/mobile games, travelling and photography.
